Patch Tarot works without an account, and it shows no ads. Your readings, notes, and settings live on your device. A few things do leave it, each described below: your display name and streak when you open The Grove, your cards and question when you ask for a personal reading, an Apple or Google identifier if you sign in to share Patch Plus across our apps, and a routine check for app updates. We also measure how our own ads on Facebook and Instagram perform. We never sell your data.
Saved readings, journal notes, the questions you write, app settings, and your streak are stored on your device. We cannot see them, and they are removed if you delete the app. The only exceptions are the ones described below.
When you ask for a personal reading, the app sends the cards you drew, their positions and meanings, and the question you wrote, if any, to our reading service. The service, which runs on Cloudflare, uses an AI model to write your reading and sends it back to your device. The request doesn’t include your name, an account, or a device identifier, and our service doesn’t save your question or your reading.
The Grove is our community space. The first time you open it, the app creates a community profile on our servers (hosted by Supabase) with a random identifier and your display name: the name you’ve set in the app, or one we generate for you. Your display name is shown beside your posts so other members can see it, and your current streak count is shared so a badge can appear beside your name. Turning Streaks off in Options stops sharing it. When you post, reflect, star, comment, follow, or report a post, that is stored too. No email or password is involved, and your Grove profile isn’t linked to your real identity or to an Apple or Google sign-in.
You can delete your own posts at any time. Patch Plus members can also delete their whole Grove account inside The Grove (Delete my Grove account), which removes the profile and what was posted under it from our servers. Deleting it also signs you out of Apple or Google on this device; your membership comes back when you sign in again or restore your purchases. Anyone can ask us to do the same by emailing the address below. Blocking an author is handled on your device.
Reminders are scheduled on your device. If you turn on Grove notifications, your device may register a push token with our servers so they can be delivered. You can turn notifications off at any time in Options → Notifications or in your device settings.
Patch Plus is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Our subscription service, RevenueCat, receives your purchase receipt and a random identifier so your membership can be recognized, plus the device details described under Ads. It never receives your payment details, and neither do we. If the app notices that your Patch Plus options didn’t load correctly, it adds a short technical note to that RevenueCat record so we can find and fix the problem.
To use one membership across our apps, you can sign in with Apple or Google. We then receive a stable identifier from Apple or Google, which RevenueCat uses to connect your membership. If Apple or Google also shares your name or email, it stays on your device, only to show which account you’re signed in with. You can sign out any time in Options → Patch Plus.
Patch Tarot doesn’t show ads. We do advertise it on Facebook and Instagram, and to see which of those ads work, the app includes Meta’s software. It tells Meta when the app is installed and opened and when a purchase is made, along with basic device information such as the model and operating system. On Android this includes your device’s advertising ID. On iPhone it doesn’t, and we never ask to track you.
For the same purpose, the app gives RevenueCat your IP address, a device identifier (on iPhone, the identifier Apple assigns to our apps, never the advertising one; on Android, the advertising ID and Android ID), and the anonymous ID Meta’s software uses. RevenueCat may use these to report a purchase to Meta so it can be credited to the ad that led to it. Meta handles the data it receives under its own privacy policy. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
The app also still contains Google’s AdMob software from an earlier version that showed ads. The app doesn’t start it, so no ad is ever requested or shown. On Android, its presence means your advertising ID may be available to it, under Google’s own privacy policy.
Patch Tarot can update itself between App Store and Play Store releases. Each time the app starts it asks our update service (Expo) whether a newer version exists. That request carries a random installation identifier, the app version, and your device type, and Expo sees your IP address, as it would for any download. It isn’t connected to your name, your readings, or your Grove profile.
Patch Tarot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t collect your contacts, photos, or precise location. We never share your readings, notes, or questions with advertisers.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top and note the change in the app.

These terms are an agreement between you and Spirit Studios, the maker of Patch Tarot. By using the app you agree to them.
Tarot and oracle readings in Patch Tarot are offered for insight, reflection, and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and should never replace guidance from a qualified professional. Decisions you make remain your own.
Patch Plus unlocks all decks, spreads, the Book of Patch, and The Grove community. It’s available as an auto-renewing subscription or, where offered, as a one-time Founder’s Key.
You own what you write. By posting to The Grove you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app so the community can see it. You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm it doesn’t violate anyone’s rights or our Community Guidelines.
Don’t use Patch Tarot to harass, threaten, or harm others; to post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content; to spam or advertise; or to interfere with the app or its servers. We may remove content and restrict access for violations, with or without notice.
The decks, artwork, card writings, the Book of Patch, and the app itself belong to Spirit Studios and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell them outside the app.
Patch Tarot is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spirit Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.

The Grove is a quiet circle for sharing readings and reflections. People arrive here in vulnerable moments. Treat every post as if its writer were sitting across the table from you.
Encourage, witness, and reflect. Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not.
The Grove runs on anonymous handles by design. Don’t post your own personal details, and never reveal someone else’s.
Posts pass through an automatic content filter before they’re shared. Every post has a ⋯ menu where you can report it to our team or block its author — blocked authors disappear from your feed immediately. Reported content is reviewed and removed when it breaks these guidelines, and repeat violations can lose access to The Grove.
When someone shares a reading, respond to their reflection, not with predictions or alarming interpretations of their cards. Never tell someone a card means something bad is going to happen to them.
